With the modern functionality of today's web browsers, it is hard to imagine what new feature could be implemented, besides a higher browsing speed. Maxthon is proof that the idea well is not dry yet and that modern web browsers still have plenty of room for improvements. It provides everything you would expect from a browser, but its cloud-based functionality is what makes it unique. You can think of Maxthon as a browsing solution for all platforms, such as PCs, Macs, smartphones or tablets.

Like other browsers, Maxthon can be set to display a quick dial when you run the application or when you open a new tab. What's more, the quick dial can be customized. Besides creating your own tiles, you can also group them in one or more folders, which gives you the possibility of launching several websites with a single click. To make the quick dial more attractive, you can apply various background images, from the browser's own library or from your local folders.

One of Maxthon's key features is the possibility of synchronizing tabs between PCs, Macs, smartphones and tablets, if you are signed into a Maxthon Passport account. In other words, the tabs you leave open on one device can be viewed and accessed on all other platforms. Cloud tabs can be found on the quick dial, where they are listed under their corresponding platforms. You can open them individually or click a button to open all tabs at once.

Another particularly useful feature is Maxthon's QR generator. If you find an interesting web page and you wish to send it to a mobile device, you can just click an icon, located on the address bar, to display a QR code for the web page. The browser comes with many other useful features, which make it comfortable on PCs or Macs and on mobile devices. Maxthon's support for mouse and TouchPad gestures is an excellent example, which proves that it is aimed at all platforms.

Pros

The browser allows you to share open tabs between different platforms over the cloud. It provides a fully customizable quick dial, support for mouse and TouchPad gestures and more.

Cons

There are no obvious design flaws to address. If you think that your current browser has everything you need, then you haven't seen Maxthon yet.
